UX Designer and Researcher

We’re supporting a stealth-mode startup in the USA reimagining creative writing with cutting-edge technology, including large language models (LLMs).

We are seeking an experienced UX designer for a short-term consulting engagement to help shape the user experience of an AI language model product. The ideal consultant will:

• Develop intuitive interaction patterns for complex AI capabilities
• Design clear feedback mechanisms to help users understand model outputs and limitations
• Create user flows that guide effective prompt engineering
• Recommend best practices for error handling and edge cases
• Provide guidance on information architecture and feature organization

Requirements:

• Previous experience designing interfaces for AI/ML products
• Strong understanding of conversation design and natural language interfaces
• Portfolio demonstrating successful complex product interactions
• Familiarity with current LLM capabilities and limitations

Timeline: 2-3 week engagement. This is a fixed contract, but will likely lead to follow-on work in the future as the product develops.

Suggested deliverables: UX workshop with the dev and product team, UX recommendations document, wireframes for key interactions.
